Spring break is upon us, and if you’re anything like us at The Tired Couple, you’ve got your bags packed (kind of…more like not at all, yet), snacks purchased, and your Amazon cart overflowing with “must-haves” for the trip. This year, we’re heading to Florida to visit the grandparents, and let us tell you, it’s a full-family production. Our Instagram will be buzzing with behind-the-scenes chaos, parenting wins, and a few epic meltdowns. Stay tuned.
So how do you survive spring break travel with young kids? You plan, you prep, and you pack with purpose.
First tip: bring snacks. Lots. Of. Snacks. We’re talking Goldfish, fruit pouches, granola bars, and maybe a few chocolate bribery tools.
Second: keep them entertained. The Kindle Fire 10 Kids Edition is a game-changer for road trips and flights. You can control screen time, content, and keep them entertained for hours.
Third: set realistic expectations. The kids will get tired, you’ll get tired, and that’s okay. The goal is memories, not perfection. And remember, you’re not alone. That’s why we started The Tired Couple — to be a support system for moments like this.
Some other awesome travel necessities include the Toniebox, Hatch (night light and noise machine), this awesome snack organizer that doubles as a memory game (you’ll get 5 minutes of quiet time), car organizers, and collapsible snack cups. Little things that make a big difference.
Whether you’re flying, driving, or teleporting (please invent that), remember to follow @thetiredcouple on Instagram for updates, laughs, and last-minute tips. Hopefully, this Spring Break Survival Guide has helped you in preparing for spring break.
You’ve got this. And if you don’t, at least the grandparents have wine. I mean, we have wine as well, but they have the more expensive kind.
